Addilee Coleman

Addilee Coleman passed from this world to Heaven on February 7, 2023. She loved her Lord, and after an enriched life of almost one hundred years, she is finally home with Him. Addilee was born in Custer City, OK on March 5, 1923 to Ray and Joyce McCallon. The McCallon family lived briefly in Oklahoma City before moving to a small farm outside of Wynnewood, OK. Addilee spoke fondly of her childhood in Wynnewood and the adventures she shared with her younger brother Bill. Addilee cherished the time she spent with her grandparents, who claimed land near Coyle, Oklahoma in the land run of 1889. After graduating from Wynnewood High School in 1940, she attended Oklahoma A&M where she was crowned Redskin Queen in 1942. At Oklahoma A&M, she met Jack Sneed. Jack and Addilee were married in 1944 before he was deployed overseas to fight the Japanese as a Marine fighter pilot in the Night Hawk squadron. Jack and Addilee had three children: Laura, John, and Mark. Addilee raised her children in Oklahoma City where she worked for many years with Eli Lilly as an administrative assistant. In 1967, Addilee married Bob Coleman who had three daughters: Vicki, Gayle, and Deena. Addilee and Bob lived for many years in Quail Creek, where Addilee enjoyed playing golf and hosting her children and grandchildren. Addilee was a natural at golf. By the time she stopped playing, she was in her eighties and had made three hole-in-ones. Addilee is survived by all of her children, stepchildren, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Addilee was a kind and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She was the epitome of strength, grace, and beauty, and many people have said she was the sweetest person they had ever known. Her service will be at Smith & Kernke Funeral Home on May Avenue on Tuesday at 11:00. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Crossing's Community Church's Mission for the Homeless.
