Albert Johnson

Albert "Bud" Sidney Johnson, 85, passed away on March 5, 2014, after a short and courageous battle with brain cancer. Bud was born in 1928 in Broken Bow, Oklahoma to Jack and Maggie Eads Johnson. He married his high school sweetheart, Elizabeth Langley in 1950, then moved to Oklahoma City to start what would be a 46 year career in law enforcement. He served with the Oklahoma City Police Department from 1952-1972, retiring as Detective Sergeant. He then served with the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Department from 1973-1991, retiring as a Captain in the Judicial Services Division. Unable to give up law enforcement completely, he served as a U.S. Federal Air Marshall from 1992-1998. Born on a farm just before the depression and stock market crash of the late 1920's, he learned the value of hard work and saving that hard earned dollar for a rainy day. He was a jack of all trades with a special gift of small engine repair. His love for garage and estate sales would find him the first in line waiting for the door to open, always on the search for that special bargain. Known as Daddy to his daughter, Pa to his grandkids and Bud to his many friends and neighbors, he was always helping on any project that needed to be done. Survived by his wife of 64 years, Elizabeth; daughter, Janice Brookshire; granddaughter, Kelli Bruemmer and husband Bobby; grandson, Edward Brookshire and wife Denise; great granddaughter Maevyn Bruemmer; and many other family and friends.
