Alene Langsdorf

Alene Langsdorf age 70, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2017 in Oklahoma City, OK. She was born on March 21, 1947 in Tulsa, OK to Daniel & Jean Davisson. Alene's formative years were spent in Tulsa where she had a passion for dance and graduated from Holland Hall. She later attended and graduated from Centenary College in New Jersey. She moved to Oklahoma City in her 20's and made it her home for the rest of her life. Alene lived a quietly private life, to which she maintained a contained, and yet generous, access to close friends and family. These relationships benefited from Alene's character, which included her authentic interest, persistent caring, charitable heart and display of non-judgmental acceptance. She was a concerned neighbor and sustained a respectful and engaged curiosity about the lives of those she lived near, especially the children and her dear friends. An abiding love of the arts, dance and music were fuel for Alene's spirit, along with her somewhat sly sense of humor. Alene greatly appreciated sharing the food, camaraderie, laughs, and rituals of gatherings and togetherness. Church, and the community she enjoyed there, centered her life in a larger context of support and trust. Alene was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her sister Suzanne (Robert) Lamkin, niece Jean Anderson, nephew Bob Lamkin and Jean's children Ali and Nick. A Memorial Service for Alene will be held at 11am, Thursday, June 8, 2017 at St. Paul's Episcopal Cathedral (127 NW 7th St., OKC, OK 73102).
