Ann Dyer Hogue, 85, passed away on July 6, 2017 at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Ann was born on December 5, 1931 in Paris, Texas to Edmond and Annelle (Logsdon) Dyer.
Ann grew up in Dallas, Texas where she graduated from Sunset High School. After high school, she attended North Texas State College, now known as the University of North Texas, completed the Dale Carnegie leadership course and graduated from the John Robert Powers School.
Ann's first job was as a model for Nardis Sportswear in Dallas, TX. She also worked for Chance Vaught Aircraft before moving to Oklahoma City, OK and finally to Stroud, OK. While living in Stroud, Ann worked as branch manager for First Federal Savings and Loan where she retired in 1994 after 15 years of service.
Volunteering was always important to Ann. While living in Oklahoma City, OK, Ann was a member of Junior Hospitality Club where she served in a variety of positions. Ann gave her time to Sunbeam Family Services and served as the 1972 Republican Co-Chairman for Oklahoma County.
After the family moved to Stroud, OK in 1973, Ann volunteered with the Stroud Chamber of Commerce as vice president of Community Development as well as serving as volunteer secretary for a period of time. Ann assisted with fundraising for the Stroud Memorial Hospital and was appointed to its first Board of Directors. As a member of the Stroud Business and Professional Women Club, Ann was named 1983 Boss of the Year. Ann was a member of the First United Methodist Church where she was responsible for all memorial correspondence. Finally, Ann was a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Stroud Chamber of Commerce, Builders Club for Habitat for Humanity and the Sunset High School Foundation.
Ann was blessed with two wonderful husbands. She was happily married to Jerry Porch for 45 years until his death in 1996. During their marriage, they received their private pilot's license and enjoyed flying for recreation. In the year 2000, Ann married George Allen Hogue. They were married for 17 years until her death. While married, they enjoyed traveling in their RV to New Mexico and the Big Bend area of Texas.
Ann was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Jerry Porch as well as her parents and brother, John Dyer.
She is survived by her husband Allen, son, Kirk Porch, of Lewisville, TX, daughter and son-in-law, Robin and John Martin, Flower Mound, TX, grandsons Jack and Michael, and other relatives and friends.
A graveside service will be held at Restland Funeral Home & Cemetery, Dallas, Texas. Memorial donations may be made to First United Methodist Church of Stroud, 324 North 2nd Avenue, Stroud, OK 74079. Condolences may be left on Ann Hogue's online guest book at www.smithandkernke.com.
