Ann Elizabeth O' Toole

Ann Elizabeth Atwood O'Toole, beloved mother, sister and grandmother, treasured friend, a ray of sunshine in this world. Born April 24, 1947, to John Wilson Atwood and Fidelia Schmitt Atwood in Marshfield, Wisconsin, Annie passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by family on July 25, 2012. How we will miss her wonderful presence among us; she blessed our lives. Annie was a long-time resident of Oklahoma City, a graduate of Bishop McGuinness High School, she attended Oklahoma State University, the University of Oklahoma and University of Central Oklahoma, where she graduated with a degree in Education. She was a dedicated elementary teacher who shepherded hundreds of adoring children for 34 years. Mrs. O'Toole was a champion for child development, putting her skills to work at Cashion Elementary School, Tulakes Elementary, and D.D. Kirkland. Annie's contributions to these public schools will live on through the precious relationships of her fellow educators she so dearly loved. Over the course of Mrs. O'Toole's teaching career, many young lives and the lives of their parents were enriched, having been touched by her talents. She worked with boundless energy and commitment, making the lives of those around her better. Mrs. O'Toole earned her retirement in May 2010. With Annie's huge heart and loving spirit she offered encouragement and friendship to all. Her life was richly blessed with close family and friends, and in return her love for them and for life made her a joy to be around. To her grandchildren, who knew her as "Dandy," she was their best friend. Her children, Stacy and Ryan, are shining examples of her character. They were truly God's blessing in her life. She is survived by her son, Ryan O'Toole, wife K.C. and granddaughter Greta Kate of Oklahoma City; her daughter Stacy Webb, husband Jim and grandsons Jack, Sam, Ben, Peter and Hank; sister Carole Heitz of Edmond and husband John, brother John Atwood of Houston and wife Holly; nephews Michael Heitz of El Paso and wife Jane, their children Olivia and Mason; Andy Heitz of Edmond and wife Tara, their children Truman and Faye; and niece Amy Atwood and nephew Patrick Atwood of Houston; and countless friends who cherish her. A celebration of Annie's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 4th, at Covenant Community Church, 2250 Yukon Parkway, Yukon. A reception will follow at the church. "Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life." Psalm 23.
