Anne Margaret Roeber died peacefully in Oklahoma City on January 24, 2015 at the age of 88. Anne is survived by her daughter, Sarah and son-in-law Rick Vermillion of Edmond, OK. Granddaughters Anne Vermillion of Houston, TX and Susan Vermillion of Branson, MO. She is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Clifford Roeber of Idabel, OK, and her mother Margaret Schoch Krueger of New Ulm, MN. Anne was born on June 19, 1926 in Milwaukee WI to Margaret Schoch and Harold Krueger. She graduated from the University of Minnesota as a Registered Dietician with an internship at the Mayo Clinic and bachelors degree in Chemistry. Later she received her Vocational Economics Certification from the University of Oklahoma and a Masters in Guidance & Counseling and Masters in Tailoring from Texas A&M in Commerce TX. She married Paul, a national Forrester in 1949. After the birth of their daughter, Sarah, they moved from Minneapolis to make their home in southeastern Oklahoma. She taught school for 36 years in McCurtain County at Wright City, Broken Bow, Battiest and Haworth. After retirement she served as president of the Retired Teachers of McCurtain County. Anne enjoyed reading, playing bridge, golf tournaments, the senior men and women's golf group at the Idabel Country Club, and watching sporting events. She also served as the Idabel County Club Women's Golf Association President and enjoyed playing many tournaments in the region. Anne's favorite thing was to spend time with her granddaughters, watching them play tennis or spending time with them on the golf course. She completed her bucket list at age 84 with a trip to Egypt with her daughter, son in law and granddaughter, Anne. A memorial service is scheduled for 11am on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Smith & Kernke with a reception to follow. James Lauderdale will officiate the ceremony.
