ANNIE THI DeMARINOAnnie Thi DeMarino was born in Saigon, Vietnam, on December 3, 1940, and died on January 21, 2021, at the age of 81. She was an only child, and her father was a doctor; thus she lived an upper middle class life in Saigon, Vietnam. Annie spent fun summers with her grandmother in the mountain town of Dalat. She was well educated by the nuns at a French Catholic school for girls in Saigon, and was fluent in French, English and Vietnamese; she was also active in scouting.After graduation from school, Annie took a clerical position with the American military services in Vietnam, where she met and married an American serviceman. After they married, he took Annie to his home in PA, where they enjoyed life with his family and friends. They had 2 sons, Anthony in 1970 and Dominic in 1973. Some years later, the couple divorced; Anthony lived with his father, and Dominic lived with Annie. Over the next few years, Annie and Dominic lived in Florida and Mississippi before settling permanently in Oklahoma City. Annie was always able to find work and to provide for herself and Dominic.Annie was a delightful person, beautiful, charming, witty and funny. She was always ready for the next adventure. A woman of many talents, Annie was a fabulous cook and her origami was magical. She could sew, knit and crochet, and made many handmade gifts for her friends. She always had a wonderful vegetable garden and would can or freeze the harvest. Her flower garden was beautiful and she always had fresh flowers in her home. She loved to sing in the choir at Christ the King Church and serve as a volunteer at Deaconess Hospital.Annie graduated from Business School and held a variety of positions in her life. Annie worked as a bilingual teacher for the OKC Public Schools and served as an interpreter at the Oklahoma County Court House. She also worked as a Social Worker for migrant workers and for an insurance company. At one time, Annie worked at four different jobs each week.Annie is survived by both of her sons, Anthony Vincent DeMarino and Dominic Paul DeMarino, and four grandchildren. There will be Mass of Christian Burial held for Annie Thi DeMarino@ 10:00 a.m., on Wednesday, February 2, 2021,@ Christ the King Catholic Church, said by Fr. Richard D. Stansberry, Jr.
