Arturo "Art" Alarcon passed away peacefully on March 13, 2019. He was born April 4, 1955 in Laredo, Texas to parents, Arturo and Gloria Alarcon. He graduated from Texas A&M University in 1981 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering. He married his lifetime love, Theresa in 1985 and together they raised their three children, Michael, Andrew and Emily.
Art had a long successful career in the petroleum industry, which led him to many different assignments across the world. Most recently, he was working in Midland, Texas for Diamondback Energy as a senior drilling advisor. Art was a loving husband, father, and brother and loved spending time with his family and friends. He had a passion for the outdoors, music and photography. Art never met a stranger and touched the lives of many.
Art is preceded in death by his parents, Arturo and Gloria Alarcon, brother-in-law, Jim Hutton, and nephew, Matthew Alan Phillips. He is survived by his wife, Theresa; children, Michael and partner Chelsie Jahansouz; Andrew and his wife Manon; daughter, Emily; sisters, Gloria and Sylvia Alarcon; and godmother and aunt, Grace Hastings.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to be made to the Stephenson Cancer in Oklahoma City.
