Bach V. Pham

Bach V. Pham, Dharma name: Thien Tri, 83, of Oklahoma City passed from this life at his home surrounded by his family.

Bach Pham was born on January 20, 1941 in My Tho, Tien Giang, South Vietnam. He attended and graduated Truong Si Quan Thu Duc in 1962. He started his service in Quan Luc Vietnam Cong Hoa- Republic of Vietnam Armed Forces and served from 1963 to 1975 as a captain commander of the 25th Infantry Division. He was held captive in Centralization Camp by    Northern Cong San for 10 years. After being released he immigrated from Saigon to Oklahoma City in 1994. He lived in Oklahoma City for the rest of his life. He was employed by Hobby Lobby and was a committed and loyal employee until his retirement in 2016 at the age of 75.

He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Phuong T.  Nguyen. Four sons, Son Pham, Hai Pham, Steven Pham, and Vu Dinh. Four daughters, Thuy Pham, Karen Pham, Lucy Pham and Tho Nguyen. Fourteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Bach Pham has taken refuge in the Three Jewels. He loved Buddhism and recited Buddhist chants on a daily basis as well as doing volunteer work at the temples.
