Barbara Lynn Beeler

Barbara Lynn Butcher Beeler, 74, died Wednesday, October 25, peacefully, surrounded by her family, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Oklahoma City July 19,1949, to Dora Deane Butcher and Walter William Butcher. 

 

Barbara was married to Claude “Bud” Beeler Jr. on June 2, 1973. They enjoyed 50 years of devotion to each other. They raised two sons, Jason William Beeler and Blake Dean Beeler. She attended Edgemere Elementary School, Harding High School and the University of Oklahoma where she was a member of Delta Gamma sorority. 

 

She lived in Oklahoma City all of her life. She was Beaux Arts Ball Chairman, on the Winter Ball committee and a longtime member of the Junior League of Oklahoma City.  She enjoyed golf and loved to travel and was an avid needlepoint enthusiast. She loved OU football. Barbara was an only child and she considered her many friends as blessings and the family she chose and loved.

 

Barbara is survived by her beloved husband, Claude “Bud” Beeler Jr., of the home; son, Jason William Beeler and his wife Mandi Beeler, Colorado Springs, Colo.; son, Blake Dean Beeler and his wife Erin Beeler, and grandson, James Walter Beeler, Oklahoma City. Mandi Beeler and Erin Beeler were the daughters she always wanted and finally got.

 

Graveside services will be at Rose Hill Burial Park at 10 a.m. on Monday, October 30, 2023. Arrangements are by Smith and Kernke Funeral Home. Gifts in her honor would be appreciated by the charity of the donor’s choice.
