Barbara Marie (Young) Sigmon departed this life on Tuesday September 14, 2010 to be with her heavenly father. Barbara was born on April 25th, 1924 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Fred H. and Mary B. Young. Barbara grew up in Oklahoma City and graduated from Central High School in1942 and she took delight in reminding her family that she was a proud member of the red skirts while attending Central. After graduation, Barbara married the love of her life, Wes Sigmon. They were partners in every way for 68 years and both felt that their greatest accomplishment was raising their three children. Among her family's fondest memories were the holiday celebrations that she created for her children and grandchildren. Walking into Barbara's home at Christmas was like entering Santa's workshop. During their marriage, Barbara was instrumental for over 20 years in helping her husband successfully build one of the first major automobile dealer auctions in Oklahoma. When she was not busy in the business or spending time with her family, Barbara and Wes were traveling to all corners of the world. After their retirement in 1979, Barbara and Wes moved to the warmer climates of the Texas Valley where they resided in their home at the Harlingen Country Club for 27 years. Through the years, their home became the destination for many family gatherings. Barbara and Wes enjoyed entertaining their family and friends with outings to Padre Island and shopping and dining excursions to Progresso, Mexico. She became a realtor at the age of 75 while still finding time to play bridge and participate in her book club. Barbara and Wes returned to Oklahoma City in 2006 to become closer to family. For the past four years, Barbara has been active in her weekly bridge group, church and sharing her weekends with the "other" love of her life, Scotty, her special needs grandson. Barbara became the single most important friend in Scotty's life and when together they made all who saw them smile.
