Barbara Sue Mills

Barbara Sue Mills, 69 died on October 5, 2014 in Edmond, OK. She was born in McAlester, OK on October 20, 1944 to John and Billie Henry, and lived there through her junior year at MHS. Her family then moved to Tulsa & she attended & graduated from Nathan Hale High School in 1962. Barbara graduated from Central State College in 1966 with a degree in Business Administration. While at Central State she was a cheerleader and a member of the Sigma Kappa sorority. She married Tom Mills in 1976 and worked with him in their family software business for many years. Barbara taught at several high schools in the metropolitan area and was a teacher and Director of Academic Testing at UCO. Barbara leaves behind family and many friends who remember her for her outgoing personality, kindness and loving ways. She had a unique sense of humor and during her illness, rarely complained and always looked forward to the next day. Barbara enjoyed church activities at Crossings, tennis, and arts and crafts. Barbara is preceded in death by her parents and husband Tom. She is survived by her sons Blake and Scott, brothers Dr. John Henry & wife Karla of Claremore, OK, Kelly Henry & Mei Cheng, and Steve Henry of Oklahoma City, Uncle Hugh Henry & wife Dot of Shawnee, cousins: Ricky and David Henry of Shawnee, Donna McNally of Indianola, her precious dog and companion Riley, and several nieces and nephews who adored their Aunt Barbara. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 8th from 10am-7pm at Smith & Kernke N. May. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, October 9th at 10:00am at Smith & Kernke N. May Chapel. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
