Benita Sanchez Rios was called home early Wednesday morning Feb 19th, at the age of 92, after several years struggling with dementia. She was born and grew up in Arizona. Prior to moving to OKC 25 years ago, she lived her married life in Southern Calif. After moving here, she continued caring for the elderly, working in home health care. She was an active member of Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church. For the past 3 years, she has been a resident of Baptist Village. Benita is survived by her sister, Carmen Renstrom, and two brothers, Joe Sanchez of San Diego and Mac Sanchez of Encino, CA. She is also survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Prescilla & Mike Peller; daughter-in-law, Maria Gonzales; 4 granddaughters, Kristine Joyce and husband Tim; Michelle Thibodeaux and husband Joey; Monica Rios and Victoria Rios; and 7 great-grandchildren, JP, Patrick, & Michael, Aidan, Diego, Faith & Lily. Benita will be reunited with her 2 sisters, Nellie Duran and Juanita Sanchez and the love of her life, husband Joe Y. Rios, a veteran of WWII, who passed in 1976; her granddaughter, Andrea K. Rios, who passed in 1977, and other numerous family and friends. Visitation will be Sunday from 3–5 p.m. A Rosary will be said Monday, Feb. 24 at 10:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 11 a.m. Both liturgies will be at Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church. Interment will be in California. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent de Paul at Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church.
