Betty Ann Rockel

Betty Ann Rockel, 86, went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 18, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Lincoln, NE to Jacob and Anna Knaub. Survivors include her husband, Robert G. Rockel, of the home, whom she married November 28, 1942. She is also survived by a daughter, Sherry and husband, Ed Beltram, of Woodland Park, CO and son, Bobby Rockel and wife, Sheri, of Oklahoma City. Survivors also include four grandchildren, Dustin, Cody, Blake and Rachel; two great grandchildren, Graeme and Jadyn; a sister, Shirley, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law of Lincoln; and seven nieces and nephews. She came to Oklahoma City in 1958 with her husband's Western Electric transfer. She was a homemaker and secretary at Western Electric and Sun Oil. She was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church, 3600 Northwest Expressway, where services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, July 23 with interment at Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation at Smith & Kernke Funeral Home will be Sunday, July 22 from 1-7 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Messiah Lutheran School. The family expresses its thanks to the staff of Excell Hospice for their compassion.
