Betty Darr

Betty Jo Cantrell Darr was born in Wagoner, Oklahoma on August 7, 1927 to Stella and Joseph C. Cantrell. She graduated from Oklahoma A&M, now Oklahoma State University, where she was a devoted member of the Chi Omega sorority. On July 1, 1950, she married Charles Boyd Darr, Jr. Betty and Charles were married for fifty years until the time of his passing. Betty worked for many years at the Oklahoma State Senate and became head of her department. She was very active in the lives of her children and was also a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church, Junior Hospitality, and many bridge clubs. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles and grandson Zachary Mashburn. She is survived by her three children Dianne Maddox (Jaime), Becky Mashburn (David), and Chuck Darr (Shari); her grandchildren Lauren Warren (Blake), Julia Maddox (Scott), Patrick Maddox, Nicole West (Ben), and Scott Darr (Erin); and great-grandchildren Jake Maddox, Finley Warren, and Elizabeth Rose Darr. The family wishes to thank the loving caregivers at Eden Care Homes and Physician's Choice Hospice for their compassionate care of our mom. A small private graveside service will be held in her memory.
