Betty Lucas (Keel) was born on January 9, 1933, in Stratford, OK, ninth of ten children, a proud member of the Chickasaw Nation. She passed away on February 5, 2022. Betty attended public schools in Stratford, Norman, and Oklahoma City, graduating from Central High School in 1951.Mom was extremely independent and without knowing anyone, moved with her two children to Denver, Colorado in 1960. She held several jobs, until finding her niche as manager of Dinner Theatre's in Denver, Dallas, Louisville, and Phoenix. Through her career she had the opportunity to meet many celebrities. She was extremely proud she helped stabilize many of the theatres operations over a career of many years.As a single mother in the sixties she raised two children in Littleton, Colorado, purchasing a home at a time when women were not able to own property independently. Mom was an advocate for women's rights and joined in several protests in Denver. She encouraged her children with a belief in education as a basis for success. Her daughter, LuAnn became a Respiratory Therapist and a computer technician. Her son Steve became an ordained minister and later an attorney.Betty is survived by her children, Steve and Cheryl Lucas, LuAnn Miller, of Edmond, Oklahoma, grandchildren, Casey Miller, Will Miller of Denver, Colorado, McKenna Lucas (Clint) of Troup, TX, Heath McCormick (Christina), of Guthrie, Oklahoma. Great grandchildren, Bethany, Caden, Kai'li Miller, Hudson, Corden, Brody, Maysan, and Maia.She is also survived by her brother, Robert Keel, of Oklahoma City, nephews, Tommy Thompson, Robert Bemo, Jay Keel, Lyndon Keel, David Keel, Lou Keel, and niece, Libby Keel.At her request, she requested no funeral services.
