Elizabeth (Betty) Ann Perkins, a devout Catholic passed away peacefully on July 14, 2018. This is not about grief or sadness; this is about celebrating a long, well-lived life. Betty was born on St. Valentine's Day in 1925, in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of Alphons and Clare Eufinger. Not long after, she moved with her family to Oklahoma City. She met Lee Perkins on a blind date and they married July 26, 1947 and were married for 66 years. Betty was a Mother to four girls and had a special place in her heart for her five grandsons and 6 great grandchildren. She loved serving her family as a homemaker and lived a very full active life. Betty loved life, never met a stranger, she always said "Life is pretty much what you make of it." Betty loved playing bridge, bowling and many church activities. After retirement, Betty and Lee enjoyed 20+ years traveling extensively around the world visiting, her favorite places being Switzerland and Ireland.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 66 years, Lee; and her four siblings, Jack and Bob Eufinger, Jane Coleman and Rita McCormick. She is survived by four daughters, Carol Perkins-Dill, Joan Benson and husband Dr. Melvin Benson, Kitty Perkins, and Patty Eikelman and husband Steve; five grandsons; Dr. Melvin Benson Jr. and wife Jenny, Ricky Dill and wife Jackie, Tony Benson and wife Sarah, Brian Benson and wife Meg, and Nick Eikelman; six great grandchildren, Rachel, Connor, Chaz, Sam, Jack, Duke and many nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, July 19, 2018, at 1 p.m. at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery Chapel. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
