Beulah Mae Bales was born on February 12, 1922 in Clinton, OK to Walter Schneider and Elisabeth (Mueller) Schneider. She was the 7th child in a family of 8. Bea graduated from Custer City High School in 1939 and then completed a business course at Draughn Business College in OKC. Bea married Jack Bales in 1941 and they moved to OKC in 1955. Bea established a successful dressmaking business which she had for 30 years. She was a cancer survivor and did volunteer work with the American Cancer Society for 25 years. As a member of Wesley United Methodist Church for many years, she was active in Builders Sunday School Class and many committees. Her favorite was the Lay Care Ministry and Boutique Dress Shop. She recently moved to Village United Methodist Church. She loved her church and her family. Bea also enjoyed playing golf and a game of Bridge. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack; daughter, Jackie; 4 brothers and 3 sisters. She is survived by her son, Dan Bales and his wife, Barbie; grandchildren, Clint Bales and wife, Allie of Asheville, NC; Mitch Bales and his wife, Lauren of Kansas City, MO; Rit Mathis and his wife, Caroline of OKC; Laura Patterson and her husband, Tony of Menlo Park, CA; Kerry Pacillio and her husband, Nick of Menlo, Park, CA; great-granddaughter, Pfeiffer Patterson; and many beloved nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank Bea's caregiver, Karin Evans, for the tenderness and compassion she provided during Bea's final days. A Celebration of Bea's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at Village United Methodist Church.
