Billie Alene Greiner (Williams)

Billie Alene (Williams) Greiner, 93, passed away June 23, 2011, at Grace Living Center in Bethany, OK. Billie was born May 25, 1918 in Cushing, OK to W.L. and Abbie (Holicky) Williams. She graduated from Yukon High School at the age of 14 and received her pharmacy degree at the University of Oklahoma. She married Kenneth (K.D.) Greiner in 1937 and lived in Stillwater, Oklahoma. After the death of her husband in 1971, she married H.W. "Herb" Kannady in 1982 and moved to Tulsa where she lived until his death. She moved to St. Ann's Retirement Center in Oklahoma City in 2002 where she resided until she moved to Grace Living Center in February, 2011. She is survived by her three sons and their spouses, Ken (Leitner) and Dave (Debbie) of Oklahoma City and Joe (Sue) of Buena Vista, CO, along with her five daughters, Carol Ann (Dick) Powell, Stillwater, OK; Connie (Ed) Robb, Buena Vista, CO; Sally (Tom) Roach, Hillsboro, OR; Mary Schnyer, Yuma, AZ and Sue (Bruce) Cummins, Sugarloaf Key, FL. Other survivors include 22 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren. Billie loved her family and instilled this tremendous sense of family loyalty by organizing biannual reunions where her more than 100 children, grand, great, and great-great grandchildren would come together in one place to celebrate family, love, and fellowship. She prided herself in knowing that all her descendants knew each other, not just by name, but by a deep sense of individual love and family unity. She was an avid OSU fan as well as Thunder basketball follower. A Visitation will be held from 9am-5pm on Sunday at Smith & Kernke. A Rosary will be held at 7pm on Sunday at St. Ann's Retirement Center, 7501 W. Britton Rd., Oklahoma City. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am on Monday at Church of the Epiphany of the Lord, 7336 W. Britton Rd. Graveside services will be held Monday at 3pm at Fairlawn Cemetery in Stillwater, 1123 E. 6th. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her name to Birth Choice of Oklahoma, 4701 S. Western, Oklahoma City, 73109.
