Jim Kelly passed away on April 8 at the age of 82. He was born on Dec 9, 1932, in Drumright, OK, and graduated from Drumright High School. He moved to Oklahoma City in 1950 where he lived with his brother Dan when he started his 33 year career with TG&Y. Jim served in the Army during the Korean War, and when he returned married Barbara Weaver on April 29, 1955. After TG&Y, Jim and Brother Dan started Kelly's Variety Stores where he worked until his passing. Jim was preceded in death by his beloved wife Barbara Kelly, his parents, two brothers and two sisters. He is survived by sister Vivian Travis of North Carolina; children, John Kelly and wife Nancy of Moore, OK, Rhonda Cobian of Edmond and Jamie Moore of Oklahoma City; grandchildren, Katy Kelly, Jordan Cobian, Zach Moore, Josh Moore, Mandy Dalto, Cassie Gentry and Megan Story; five great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Viewing will be at Smith & Kernke on Sunday, April 12 with the family present from 2-4 pm. The funeral service will be held Monday, April 13 at 2 pm at Smith & Kemke May Chapel. Burial will be at Resthaven Memory Gardens immediately following services.
