Billye Casey Keister was born October 20, 1923, in Farmer, Texas, to Willis and Wiltron (Overstreet) Casey. She grew up on the farm and moved to OKC in 1945 with her husband Leon Keister. She joined Wesley United Methodist Church, the Builders' Class and Sorelle Club for which she served as president in the Fifties and again in the Nineties. During the 50's she was active in PTA and her children's school and Sunday school activities. In the Sixties she joined the business world at the original Ancel Earp, McEldowney Insurance Agency in the heart of OKC where she rose to the position of vice-president of claims. She took great pride in handling efficiently the claims of their many customers. After retirement in 1997, she volunteered in the cafeteria at Christian Heritage Academy, and she cooked and helped deliver Mobile Meals. She was a member of United Methodist Women, Esther Ruth Circle, and she served on many committees at Wesley. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother, a sister, a son-in-law and a grandson, Thomas. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Claudia and Joe Straw, Edmond; C. Leon, Jr., and Jolene Keister, OKC; Keith and Cindy Keister, Hurst, TX; Carla Gregory, Edmond; ten grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at Smith-Kernke, N. May on Thursday, July 9, at 2 P.M. with interment at Rose Hill Mausoleum.
