Dr. Bobby Wayne Randquist of Lenexa, Kansas, passed away peacefully Thursday, July 19, 2018. He was born to Martin and Marie Randquist on September 11, 1928 in Cordell, Oklahoma. Bobby was a devoted Christian, husband, father, and friend. Bobby earned a B.S. in Education from Southwestern State University, and Master and Doctorates of Education from the University of Oklahoma. He began his career in education as a math and business teacher and coach, and later served as a high school principal and school superintendent. After serving for 11 years as Superintendent of Schools for Carnegie, Oklahoma, he served several years as a federal programs auditor and administrator for the Oklahoma State Department of Education before retiring in 1986. For most of his adult life Bobby taught adult Sunday School classes in Southern Baptist Churches in Oklahoma. His children were blessed as they grew up watching him daily study the Bible and prepare to teach God's word to others. Bobby's unfailing love, impeccable integrity, generous patience, and sharp wit set the example for how life should be lived and enjoyed to the fullest. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents Martin and Marie Randquist, wife of 57 years, Ruby Nell Randquist, brothers Roy and Glenn Randquist, and sister Nadine Keller. He deeply influenced and will be dearly missed by survivors including son Bob and his wife LaVada Randquist, daughter Kathy and her husband Ed Steele, grandchildren Jennifer and Bill White, Laura and Jamie Gudell, Kristi and Jeremy Griem, and David Steele, brother Gene Randquist, and Great Grandchildren Aisling Steele, Levi and Lizzie Griem, and Scout Gudell. Internment: 1:30 pm Monday, July 23rd at Lawnview Cemetery, Cordell Oklahoma.
