Bonnie Sue Hansen

Bonnie Sue Orton Hansen, 60 passed away on April 10, 2014 in Edmond, OK. She was born on August 17, 1953 in Enid, OK to Ernest and Zelma Orton. Bonnie graduated from Cherokee High School and immediately enrolled in the Central State Nursing Program. She earned her BSN in 1976 and was hired on full time at Edmond Hospital. Bonnie worked at Edmond Hospital until 1988 when she was offered and accepted a position at Baptist Hospital, were she worked for 18 years. Since 2006 Bonnie has been the Administrative Assistant for the Department of Psychology at UCO. Even with her successful and busy career Bonnie's biggest passion was her family. She and Joe have been married for 37 years and they were blessed with two sons. Bonnie was preceded in death by both her parents, and her niece Leonda Shepard who was like a sister to her. Bonnie is survived by her husband Joe Donald Hansen, sons Curtis Dickinson Hansen and wife Adrian of Kilgore, TX, Jay Dee Hansen and wife Heidi; sister Rhonda Shepard, brothers Roy Orton and wife Rita, Ivan Orton and wife Liz, Irvie Orton and wife Suzie; her God Son George Brannon; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and her favorite furry companion Fritz.
