Laramie "Bruce" Cunningham, 84, of Edmond, Oklahoma, unexpectedly passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, September 16, 2018. A memorial will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, September 19th, at New Covenant Christian Church, 12000 North Rockwell Avenue, Oklahoma City, OK 73162. The family is asking that everyone wear something red for his love of OU football, his favorite color, and to represent his huge heart. In lieu of flowers, his family is asking that donations be sent to the church New Covenant Christian Church in Bruce's name. Bruce was born March 25, 1934, in Sand Springs, OK, where he played football and was on the track team in high school and after graduating, served as a paratrooper in the US Army. He earned a degree in business from the University of Denver and was head of Business Administration at the National Scientific Balloon Facility. He also retired from Texas A&M Research Foundation. Bruce was a member of New Covenant Christian Church and loved his Lord and recently he became involved with the Sons of the American Revolution. He enjoyed researching genealogy and studying football and war history. He had a superb memory and recall and was an excellent story teller and enjoyed reading poetry. Bruce loved his family and wasn't ashamed to let you know. Bruce is survived by his wife of 57 years, Barbara, and his children, Brian of Broken Arrow, OK; Cheryl (Dave) of Howell, MI; Diana (Michael) of Buford, GA; Johnny (Lynsey) of Ozark, MO; sister, Debbie (Richard) of Oklahoma City; brother, Mike (Sarah) of Concord, CA; 10 grandkids: Kelsey, Sam, Thomas, Hailey, Wesley, Joe, Kristen, Brooklyn, Wyatt, and Gunner; nephews Jared (Jenna) Keith, Clay (Jordan) Keith; great niece E.V. Keith and many other beloved family members. He was preceded in death by his parents William Marion Cunningham and Wynona Montez Cunningham (Mitchell) and his brother, Stephen Blayde Cunningham.
