Bryan William Gay was born June 5th, 1951 in Wichita, Kansas and died on August 15th, 2016, in Edmond, Oklahoma surrounded by his loving wife and children. Bryan is survived by his Wife, Saundra, of Edmond, OK; his son, Robert, of Oklahoma City, OK; his son, Rhys, daughter-in law, Neely, and Granddaughter, Lillian, of Kansas City, MO; his daughter, Laura, of Edmond, OK; his Mother, Emma States; and his sisters Wynell Hill and Bevenda Birchfield . He is preceded in death by his Father John Gay, and his brother, Calvin Gay. Upon High School graduation from Purcell High School Bryan enlisted in the United States Air Force. During his time in the USAF Bryan was a jet aircraft mechanic on F-4 Phantoms. During the Vietnam War he was stationed at the Air Force base in Ubon, Thailand. After his honorable discharge he attended Oklahoma State University in Stillwater where he met the love of his life Saundra Meshew. Bryan graduated from OSU with a degree in Agronomy. Soon after their wedding the newly married couple moved to St. Paul, NE where Bryan was the manager for the Land O' Lakes Co-Op. In 1983 the couple returned to Edmond, OK where they would spend the remainder of their marriage raising their three children. Bryan was a great family man, a loving father, and granddaddy. He was a very social, active man and had a deep love for his Oklahoma State Cowboys. He enjoyed Football games with tailgating, playing golf, he took pride in having an immaculate yard, and was always singing. His family and friends will always remember him as a gentleman and a proud veteran, who could always put a smile on your face, and was always willing to give lend a helping hand where ever he could. Services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 19, 2016 at Quail Springs United Methodist Church.
