Bue Estelle Cooper

“God's greatest masterpiece is the heart of a mother." Bue Estelle Cooper passed away on Tuesday, January 19th at home. Bue had a long full and truly blessed life. She was born in Harlton, Texas on June 14, 1911, the third child of Clinnie Chitsey and the Rev. Francis Maynard Simpson. She had 5 brothers and one sister. Bue graduated in 1930 from Oklahoma City University with her teaching degree. Her first year of teaching was in a one room school house just west of Oklahoma City. She ended her teaching career after 14 years as the 4th grade teacher at Christ the King Catholic School. Bue met Dan Cooper at a potluck dinner at the Britton Methodist Church, married December 2, 1933, and had 49 wonderful years until his death in 1982. Dad used to say "I fell in love with the redhead in the polka dot dress and high heels". High heels were moms' signature. Bue and Dan lived a deep and trusting faith in God. They were always open to family and friends for dinner and almost always had extra relatives, friends or people with special circumstances living with them. She is survived by her daughter Diane Timmerman children Brian Simms, Jonathan Simms wife Kasey children Cooper and Dylan son David Cooper, wife Cathey, children Dana, Matt wife Gemma, Erin Jerger husband Eric daughter Elle, son Dick Cooper, wife Shirley, children Steve Cooper wife Annamarie children Adam, Elaine, Claire and Ann, Catherine Vaughn husband Jim son Alex, Rebecca Gordon husband Kent children Jordan, Genevieve, Lilliana, Michael Cooper wife Rachael children Meagen and Carrie, Sarah Wienecke husband Rob children Olivia, Luke and Jeffery, Tim Cooper wife Erin daughter Elise, son Dan Cooper wife Nancy children Chris Cooper children Cody and Lauren, Debbie Jones husband John children Ryan and Cory and Susan Cooper. She will be sorely missed but the family rejoices in the life they had with a loving and dignified lady who remained so until her last breath. The family is forever grateful to Diane for providing a loving home for her for the last 13 years of her life. The family would like to thank caregivers Melissa Samuels, Linda Wilburn, and Mackie Fairchild, truly special people who lovingly cared for Mom and for Mackie's tenderness in the last moments.
