Carl Eugene Denning

Carl Eugene Denning, age 78, was born in Oklahoma City on February 4th, 1938. He passed away peacefully in his home after an extended illness on December 12th, 2016. Carl graduated from Classen High School in 1957 and became a Certified Public Accountant in 1974. He served as a Reserve Deputy Sheriff for Oklahoma County and was a first responder at the Murrah building in 1995. He retired in 2013 as Chief Financial Officer for the Mutual Assurance Administrators. Carl enjoyed working on and racing his cars, riding his motorcycles, caring for his fish and dogs and traveling. Carl always liked spending time with family and friends. Carl is preceded in death by his brother Merrill Denning, sister Noritha Denning, and their parents Wilber and Irene Denning. Carl is survived by his wife Claren Denning; his 3 children, Denise Denning Engle, Janelle Denning Owen, and Chris Denning, their spouses; 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Pallbearers are Chris Denning, Richard Engle, Pat Owen, Keetan Owen, Kyle Denning, and Dick Walker. Honorary pallbearers include Paul Kramer, Jerry Thrower, and Odgen Cantrell. The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Mary Bott, Dr. Michael Crawford, and Excell Hospice for their extraordinary care of Carl.
