Carla Nash Richter

Carla was born to Kenneth and Marie Nash on September 21, 1963. She was the sixth child and the second girl to join the family. Carla attended Bishop John Carroll School through eighth grade where she made life-long friends. She and her family were active members of Our Lady's Cathedral. Carla graduated from NW Classen High School where she was a cheerleader and played softball. She earned a Bachelor degree from Oklahoma State University. While attending OSU Carla made life-long sisters in Alpha Chi Omega and became and remained a loyal Cowboys fan. The majority of her career, Carla worked for Gulf States Toyota as a Business Systems Administrator. Carla married Jeff Richter on November 30, 2000. Her most joyous moment was the birth of her son, Case Allan Richter. She was a devoted mother, serving as baseball coach, Scout assistant and classroom mom at Christ the King school. Carla loved gardening, traveling with Case and spending time with family and friends. She was "favorite aunt" to her many nieces and nephews.Carla staged a fierce battle with ovarian cancer since 2013. Her love for her son was a powerful motivation for her fight, but Carla called a truce. Carla was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents. She is survived by her son, Case; former husband, Jeff Richter (Nadine); her loving siblings, Robert Nash (Jody), Bill Nash (Dee), Rick Nash (Katrina), Leo Nash (Sharon), Teresa Nash Warner (Richard) and Maria Nash Meyer (Curt), with whom she was very close. She is also survived by 18 nieces and nephews; 11 great-nieces and great-nephews; one great-great niece.Special thanks to Good Shepherd Hospice, her dear friend, Suzy Burkes and the prayers and support of friends and family. Oh Lord, Eternal rest grant unto her and may perpetual light shine upon her. Carla was deeply loved and will be dearly missed. An evening prayer service will begin at 7:00 p.m. Friday, November 13, 2020 at the Smith & Kernke N. May Chapel (live webcast via website). Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 14, 2020 at Christ the King Catholic Church with Interment to follow at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to OU Stephenson Cancer Center.
