Carole Ruth Frakes, 75, of Pensacola, FL passed away Saturday, June 24, 2023. Carole was born on February 28, 1948, in Oklahoma City, OK to Luther Melvin (L.M.) Fowler and Bonita Faye Fowler (Flowers). Carole graduated from Putnam City High School in 1966 and then attended business school. Carole worked in data entry at Love Box Company for many years and also in the oil and gas industry prior to having a stroke in October 1990 and becoming disabled. Carole is survived by her daughter, Kim Gilleland of Oklahoma City, OK, daughter in law, Mikki McDonald of Amarillo, TX; grandchildren, Tyler Gilleland and wife, Martha, of Seattle, WA, R.C. McDonald of Amarillo, TX, Jacob Gilleland and wife, Cassidy, of Moore, OK, and Nick McDonald of Amarillo, TX; great-grandchildren, Evan Brice, Chance Odell, Acelynn McDonald, and Alaina Gilleland, and countless friends. Carole was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Rick McDonald. Carole was the biggest fan of her children and always bragged about their accomplishments and proudly displayed their ribbons and trophies and she was always the loudest cheerleader at their events. Carole loved OU football and gushed over Brian Bosworth in the 80's. She also loved fishing and watching wrestling, especially Hulk Hogan, and most recently, John Cena. She even got excited when she saw John Cena on TV doing trash bag commercials. Carole loved fast cars and proudly drove her 1972 Chevy Malibu prior to becoming disabled, even a time or two when she snuck away after having her stroke. However, nothing could surpass her love for Elvis. Even after her stroke, Carole would sing and dance every time he came on TV or the radio. Carole will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at 10:00am at Smith and Kernke Funeral Home, 1401 N.W. 23rd St., Oklahoma City, OK followed by graveside at Kolb Cemetery in Spencer, OK.
