Carolyn Ann Gallant passed away on March 16, 2012 in OKC. Ann was born Dec. 8, 1934 in Bartlesville, OK to Frank & Mildred Harback. She completed the nursing program at St. Anthony's and after graduating in 1955, she went on to St. Louis University in MO. where she earned a B.S. degree in Nursing. While there, she met her husband Roland Antoine Gallant whom she married on July 10, 1957. She worked briefly as a nurse before starting a family. During the next 25 years Ann was lovingly devoted to raising her 10 children in the St. Louis area before resuming her nursing career. Ann returned to OKC in June, 1982. She served as a nurse locally at Bethany Hospital for a number of years before becoming Director of Nurse Finders. After leaving Nurse Finders, Ann worked as a home health nurse prior to semi-retirement in 2003. Nursing was a calling for her. She touched the lives of her patients and is remembered by many in the communities she served. As a devout Catholic Ann was a faithful servant of God, from which she drew strength, peace and joy throughout her life. She was preceded in death by her husband Roland Gallant, her father Frank Harback and her son Jean Paul. She is survived by 9 children; Berard Gallant and his wife Toni of Edwardsville, IL., Nicole Willard of Edmond, OK., Simone Gallant of OKC, Gabrielle Hanna and husband Fred of OKC, Guy Gallant and wife Theresa of Wichita, KS., Anne Savastano and husband Mark of Canton, OH., twins Patrice Gallant and Jacqueline Gallant of OKC, Andrea Mertens and husband David of Edmond, OK; her mother Mildred Harback of OKC, sister Linda Thompson of Tulsa, OK., and brother Dean Harback of OKC. She has 16 grandchildren: Sam, Brandon, Natalee, Chuck, Travis, Cameron, Kayla, Elise, Colette, Madeleine, Katarina, Sophia, Isabelle, Philip, Rochelle and Thomas; and 3 great grandchildren: Jack, Gia, and Isaac, all who affectionately knew her as "Kitty". The family will receive friends beginning at 6 p.m. followed by a Prayer vigil held at 7 pm Monday at St. Francis Church, 1901 NW 18th St., with the Mass to be celebrated at the church on Tuesday at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you contribute to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation.
