Carolyn Morin 'Carol Brown' Brown

Carolyn Morin Brown passed away at her home in Oklahoma City on June 10, 2012. She was born Nov. 16, 1928 in Fowler, IN, the daughter of Mae Ellen Morin and Paul Leo Morin. Carol attended St. Mary's College in Notre Dame, IN, where she met the love of her life, Bill Brown. They were married in October of 1949, in Chicago, IL, and moved to Oklahoma City in 1952 where they started a family and a business. Carol always believed that being a mother was her "life's work" and over the next several decades, she and Bill raised eight children and built their business. She was an avid golfer and loved playing at Quail Creek Golf and Country Club. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Lois Pounian. She is survived by Bill, her husband of over 62 years; eight children and spouses, Kathy and Tom Ryan of Oklahoma City, Bill and Gil Brown of Chicago, IL, Steve and Sara Brown of Oklahoma City, Carol Morrissette of Camarillo, CA, Jim and Jill Brown of Oklahoma City, Bob and Melissa Brown of Oklahoma City, Patti and Eric McGraw of Charlottesville, VA, Barbara and Brett Willis of Oklahoma City; one sister, Marion Kells of Wallkill, NY; and 28 grandchildren. An evening prayer service will be held Sunday, June 17, 2012 at 6 p.m. and the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, June 18, 2012 at 10 a.m. Both liturgies will be at Christ the King Catholic Church, 8005 Dorset Drive, Oklahoma City. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made in Carol's memory to: Great Expectations Foundation, 717 N. Grand Ave., Tahlequah, OK 74464, Central Oklahoma Habitat for Humanity, 5005 S. I-35 Service Rd., Oklahoma City, OK 73129 or to a charity of your choice.
