Catalina was born on Dec. 1, 1936 in Nogales, Sonora, Mexico, the daughter to Jose Duran and Maria Consuelo Barreto and passed on April 15, 2014. She was raised and educated in Nogales, Sonora, Mexico. Catalina married Hector Alvarado on May 21, 1961. They moved to Enid, Oklahoma with the Air Force in 1980. She was a very devote Catholic mother that prayed daily for her family and friends. She enjoyed traveling to Germany and throughout Europe where she would learn the culture and language wherever she was. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Hector Lopez Alvarado of Enid; four children, Sandra Ann Jorns of Dekalb, IL; Alejandro Lopez Alvarado (Christina) of Texas; Lindalee Hendershot (Brian) of Edmond; Sonia Catherine Ensz (Eric) of Okla. City; and twelve grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; one son, Hector Martin Alvarado; one grandson, Little Micheal Alvarado; one sister; and two brothers.
