Catherine Cecilia Sexton

Catherine Cecilia Sexton, 76, passed away on Friday, September 23, 2011 in her home. The daughter of Howard and Mary Paulsen, "Kay" was born on October 14, 1934 in Jersey City, New Jersey. She graduated from Jersey City Medical Center with an RN. She worked as a nurse prior to raising her family. Kay was united in marriage to James "Jim" Sexton on September 1, 1956. The couple had 2 children, Jim Sexton, an attorney in San Diego, CA and Kathy Yandell, living in Moore, OK. Kay supported her family as they grew in whatever role needed to be filled. Jim's career took the family from New Jersey to England, Puerto Rico and finally to Oklahoma, where the couple retired. Throughout her life, Kay always found time to volunteer and help those around her. Until recently she acted as a mentor through Whiz Kids and when her health permitted, she was a Eucharistic Minister at Mercy Chapel. Kay will be remembered as a gentle and generous woman, always gladly giving and sharing with those she met. She was a wonderful wife and a loving daughter and mother. We have it on authority that Kay was the BEST Nana in the whole world. She was preceded in death by her husband, mother, and father. Survivors include her 2 children, Jim and Kathy, and her 5 grandchildren, Jimmy, Mary, Andrew, Jillian and Nicholas.
