Catherine Russell Worley passed away Dec. 30, 2017, in OKC. She was born Nov. 18, 1934, in McAlester, the daughter of Guy M. and Jennie (Fassino) Russell. She graduated from McAlester High School and attended OU, where she earned her Bachelor's degree. She taught elementary school for one year in Midwest City before marrying the love of her life, John William "Bill" Worley on Feb. 9, 1957. They lived in Stillwater for two years prior to coming to Oklahoma City. Catherine was a lifelong member of Christ the King Parish and was very active in her children's school activities. She later became a volunteer at Mercy Hospital and served 37 years and knitted hats for the newborn babies at Mercy. Catherine also volunteered with Habitat for Humanity. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Bill, on April 25, 2010. She is survived by two daughters, Beth McDonald (Mike) of OKC and Janet Funkhouser (Bill) of Tulsa; 6 grandchildren, Amy Hightower (Brett), Caitlin McDonald, Maura McCoy (Kale), Sam McDonald, Patrick Funkhouser (Jolene), and Natalie Dimac (Brad). Viewing will be at Smith & Kernke N. May Wednesday from 9 am - 5 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, Jan. 4, 2018, at 11 am at Christ the King Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery. The family would like to express their gratitude to the Heaven House and the many caregivers who made Catherine's last years so pleasant.
