Always enamored with aircraft, Charlie took the ultimate flight of his life in the early morning hours of July 9, 2023. Born June 12, 1947, he was a beloved son, brother, nephew, cousin, friend, boyfriend, husband, brother-in-law, uncle, papa & "grampa". He was also a US Army 1st Lieutenant, Certified Public Accountant and a Reverend of the Reformed Church in America. For 17 years he was the Pastor of the Comanche Reform Church in Lawton, OK. In recent years, he was a member of Saint Augustine of Canterbury Episcopal Church, where he thrived; he became close friends with, and an admirer of, the Reverend Joseph Alsay. Charlie's charisma was a result of his wit, intellect, handsomeness and other intriguing qualities. He was kind, caring, intuitive and protective, yet spontaneous and adventurous. His love of music and singing was delightfully contagious.He was preceded in death by his parents Geneva Messick Spencer and Clifford Davis Spencer; grandparents Velma and Clyde Messick; Uncle Jerry D. Messick; Aunt Betty Messick Kirschner; parents-in-law Beulah and Everett Graham; brother-in-law Robert Tubre'; sisters-in-law Jan Graham Martin and Sandra Graham Tubre'; and brother-in-law David G. Fitzgerald.Survivors include his wife of 48 years Judy Ann Graham Spencer; adored cairn terrier Toto, aka "Little Girl"; sister Mari Beth Spencer Fitzgerald and her stepdaughters Lauren Fitzgerald (Brian Culver) and Diana Fitzgerald (Buddy Wallace); cousins Mike Sikes (Vicki), Mark Sikes (Kathy), Tracey Raymond (JB, Jim Burwell); Jerry D. Messick (Kristin); nephew Nick Tubre' (Cathy); great niece Rylee Walker (Dylan), and their baby son Cash; great nephew Cole Tubre'; grandchildren Annie and Marty Martin; and "adopted" son Nnambdi Agbaji (Carine). The funeral service is planned for July 29, 2023, 11 a.m., at Saint Augustine of Canterbury Episcopal Church, 14700 N. May Avenue, Oklahoma City, OK, 73134.
