Charles Lee "Charlie" Cunningham passed away on September 15, 2015, in Oklahoma City. He was born in Caldwell, Kansas on March 31, 1949. He was the oldest of three sons of Sidney Willard and Mary Marie Cunningham. Charlie graduated from Tonkawa High School in Tonkawa, Oklahoma and went on to graduate from the University of Oklahoma. After graduation Charlie worked in the Engineering Department for the University of Oklahoma before moving into private business. He began his career in financial planning with New York Life. He continued to have great success and began his own financial planning business, Oklahoma Financial Center, with his wife, Karen Cunningham. He continued to work until his retirement. Charlie loved great cigars and the game of golf. Charlie was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Marie Cunningham. Survivors include his father, Sid; daughters, Cris and Katie; sons, Chad and wife Julie, Porter and wife Stephanie; grandchildren, Bryson, Ayla, Triston, Gavin, Carter and Olivia; brothers, Vernon and wife Suzanne and Marty; Charlie's favorite ex-wife, Karen Cunningham as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and countless friends. The family would like to thank Paula Avery and her staff at Caregiver Connection, his caregivers, Mrs. Ann, Tanya, Marie, and Valir Hospice Nurses for their amazing work and care of Charlie. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Sunbeam Family Services CARETRAK program or the Alzheimer's Association of Oklahoma. The family will be hosting a "Celebration of Life" on Monday, September 21, 2015, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., at The Ranch Steakhouse, 3000 W. Britton Road, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
