Mrs. Charlotte Yvonne Davis, 70, passed away March 12, 2023, in Tyler, Texas with her family by her bedside. Charlotte was born June 6, 1952, in Port Arthur, Texas to parents Howell Bickham and Maxine Sharpton Bickham. Growing up the youngest of five siblings, three of whom rowdy brothers, Charlotte learned early on how to build a backbone. As tough as she was, it was her genuine kindness that made everyone she came across feel truly connected with her. Charlotte was a fierce competitor, earning her All-Star and All-State High School Basketball accolades. It was not unusual to find her showing up even the boys on the court. It was this same grit and determination that blessed those of us who loved her with every bonus year following her terminal diagnosis. Her fondest memories growing up were spending time with her sister Mary Whittlesey and family. The two shared a bond that could not be matched, and when it was time for Charlotte to leave behind her place on this Earth, her family took comfort in knowing she was reunited with her sister. In April of 1979, she married her love, Michael Davis. They moved to Oklahoma City in 1981 where they remained for the following 36 years, raising their two children, Brett and Emily. For 40 years Charlotte was a devoted teacher and school counselor. It was throughout her beloved career that she fostered some of her most cherished friendships with fellow teachers and faculty. Above all, Charlotte was a loving wife, mother, and Gigi. You could always find her cheering in the stands and walking the courses of her children's sporting events. She was their biggest fan and greatest supporter in both sports and life. Charlotte enjoyed her retirement back in Texas. She found pure joy in spending time with her three grandchildren. She loved traveling with her family and made many memories in favorite destinations such as Colorado and Florida. She will be missed immensely. She is survived by her husband, Michael Davis; son, Brett Davis; daughter, Emily Frampton and husband Chad Frampton; grandchildren Hayes Frampton, Everleigh Frampton, and Crew Frampton; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Howell and Maxine Bickham; sister, Mary Whittlesey; and brothers, Hal Bickham, Travis Bickham, and Robert Bickham. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 19, 2023, from the hours of 12:00PM-7:00PM (family present from 3:00PM-5:00PM) at Smith & Kernke Funeral Homes, located at 14624 North May Ave, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73013. Funeral services are set for 11:00AM, Monday, March 20, 2023, at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery Chapel, located at 7801 N.W. Expressway, Oklahoma City, OK 73132.
