Chris Haugen

Christopher J. Haugen, born on June 21, 1962, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Rosemary and Harold Haugen, peacefully passed away on May 22, 2024, in Oklahoma City. He spent his formative years in Tulsa, where he cultivated a passion for learning and exploration.

Chris excelled academically, graduating cum laude from Tulsa University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering. He continued his pursuit of knowledge and obtained his Master of Business Administration in Finance from Tulsa University. During his academic journey, Chris was not only a dedicated scholar but also an active member of the Phi Gamma Kappa scholastic fraternity and the Lambda Chi fraternity. Chris was a member of Oklahoma City Golf & Country Club where he cherished memories and relationships with family and friends.

Professionally, Chris embarked on a distinguished career in the oil and gas industry, contributing his expertise to various companies throughout his life. The last 15 years of his career were served with dedication at Continental Resources. He held a number of leadership roles at Continental, however his time spent as Vice President of Corporate Reserves was the most fulfilling of his career.

Beyond his professional achievements, Chris found profound joy and fulfillment in his family life. He married the love of his life, Becky, and was blessed with a beloved family, including his stepson Trent James and stepdaughter Kacie Price, along with their respective spouses Amy James and Kris Price. Chris adored his grandchildren Phoebe, Liza, and Jude Price, cherishing every moment spent with them.

Chris is further survived by his sister Cindy Craft, her husband Chris, niece RoseMary, and nephew Matthew.

In honor of Chris's compassionate spirit and commitment to building better communities, donations may be made to Habitat for Humanity in lieu of flowers. Chris's generosity and kindness will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in eternal peace.
