Chris was born to Pedro and Carmen Contreras in Tokyo, Japan. He died unexpectedly on July 6, 2013. Chris was preceded in death by his mother, Carmen Nissen, and brother, Noel Nissen. He is survived by: his father, Pedro Contreras; his three children, Christina, Sean, and Rebecca; brothers: Peter (Jenny), Joel (Susan), Gerald Rae (Sharon), JC (Barbara), Kevin, Tim, Eric (Lori), Gregory (Andrea), as well as sister-in-law, Carol; sisters: Camille (Michael), Maria (Fred), Jana, Norita, Kirsten, Michelle (David), plus many nieces and nephews. Chris worked in several career fields including the US Army, recreational therapist, Registered Nurse before answering the call to God's service. He was ordained a priest on September 7, 2011, in the Holy Ukrainian National Orthodox Church in Exile by Archbishop +Haralambos of West Palm Beach, Florida. Following this, Father Christopher was Director and Chaplin of St Francis of the Woods Spiritual Retreat Center in Coyle, OK. The family would like to express wishes of gratitude and blessings to the following at St Francis of the Woods: Kay Adair, Co-Founder and Trustee, Father Matthew R. C. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2013, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Smith & Kernke Funeral Home, 14624 N May Ave, Oklahoma City, OK. The service co-celebrants will be Father Matthew R. C. Adair Jr. and Father Paul Wohola. Funeral Service and Divine Liturgy will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 12, 2013, at St Francis of the Woods Retreat Center, 11414 W Highway 33, Coyle, OK.
