Clyde Joseph Clark

Clyde Joseph Clark, 91, died February 13, 2024, in Richmond, Texas. He was born July 18, 1932, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Clyde D. Clark and Catherine R. McGuire. He was a 1953 graduate from the Oklahoma School for the Deaf in Sulphur, Oklahoma as an All-American running back and track star where he first met his future wife Cherene Shadid. After high school, Clyde and Cherene reunited at a Halloween party and were married on February 6, 1955. They made their home in Tulsa, Oklahoma until they moved their family to Texas in 1971. Clyde worked as a carpenter in commercial construction until he retired in 1992.

After the passing of his beloved wife, Cherene, Clyde later met his companion and friend, Beverly “Dianne” Pate. We are forever grateful for the love and compassion Dianne extended to our father over the past 14 years. Clyde was an OU football fan, even after moving to Texas. He was also an avid fisherman and loved fishing on his boat whenever he had the opportunity.

Clyde is preceded in death by his wife Cherene, and his great-grandson Noah. He is survived by his children, Chris Clark and wife Neida, Carey Clark, Cherie Schade and husband Kevin, grandchildren, Brooke Galbincea and husband Stephen, Corey Schade and wife Morgan, Nathan Clark and wife Shelby, and Dylan Schade, great-grandchildren Aidan, Emma and Micah Galbincea, and Charlie Clark, and many extended family members.

Funeral services will be Saturday, February 24, 2024, at 10:30 am at St. Elijah Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church, 15000 N. May Avenue, with burial following at Fairlawn Cemetery.
