Rick was born on August 29, 1923 in Brookfield, Illinois to Konrad and Emily Ricker where he attended elementary and high schools and passed away on July 27, 2011 at home in Edmond, Oklahoma. Rick entered the Army Air Corps in January 1943 and served proudly with the 8th Air Force, 34th Bomb Group where he flew in 30 missions as a radio operator on B-24s and B-17s receiving the Distinguished Flying Cross. Upon discharge in 1945, Rick returned to work at Western Electric and later attended branches of the University of Illinois and Illinois Institute of Technology. In 1948, he married his loving wife, Patricia Stokes with whom he celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary on July 10th. To this union, were born twins, Robert and William; daughter, Karen; and twins, Jim and Anita. Preceded in death are Rick's parents; stepmother, Estelle; sons, Robert and William; and sister, Rita Lucas. He is survived by wife, Patricia; daughters, Karen and husband Mark Mitchell, Anita and husband Steve Zotto; son, Jim Ricker; grandchildren, Megan Mitchell, Ryan Mitchell, Steve Zotto and Natalie Zotto. Brother-in-law, Edward Stokes and wife Gloria of Chicago, also survive Rick. Transferring from Chicago to Oklahoma City with Western Electric in 1960, Rick retired in 1987 after 44 years of service. During his life, Rick enjoyed camping with his family, bowling, golf (proud of his hole-in-one at age 66) and big band music, particularly that of Glenn Miller.
