Constance Estelle Fisher Pittman passed away peacefully on December 2, 2017 at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City at the age of 85. She was born in Pensacola, Florida on August 10, 1932 where she was raised and received her education through the catholic school system. After graduating from high school she attended nursing school at Sacred Heart School of Nursing. She soon met and married her husband, Edward Corry Pittman, Jr, and had three children, Candace, Chip and Cindy. In 1965 the family moved to Mobil, Alabama for a few years and ultimately settled in Metairie, Louisiana, a suburb outside of New Orleans. Connie worked as a surgical nurse at Ochsner Hospital and East Jefferson General Hospital where she became Head Nurse of the surgical department. After many years, her career took her to Hammond, Louisiana where she became Director of Nursing at 7th Ward General Hospital. In 1987 she suffered a stroke and subsequently moved back to her hometown of Pensacola. She lived happily in her condo where she enjoyed gardening, shopping, daily mass and lunch with her Lunch Bunch Group at least once a month. In 2003 she moved to be near her daughter Cindy in Oklahoma City where she moved into St. Ann's Independent Living Facility for eight years and ultimately lived out her remaining years at St Ann's Nursing Home.
Constance is survived by her children, daughter Candace Quick, son-in law Steve Quick, son Chip Pittman, daughter-in-law Andrea Pittman and granddaughters, Jessica and Lauren, her youngest daughter Cindy Thompson, son-in-law Doug Thompson and grandson Brandon. Also, she is survived by one of her oldest and dearest friends Shirley Bender from Pensacola, Florida.
