Constance Leila "Connie" Burt passed away June 20, 2020. She was born May 19, 1924, in London, England, the daughter of William and Katherine Coley. During World War II, she worked at Marconi's, a London-based wireless telegraph co., and met an American Soldier named Lonnie Burt. They courted for 13 months and were married on Aug. 19, 1944, in Chelmsford, England. Following the war, she came to the U.S. where she was reunited with Lonnie and they made their home in Oklahoma. Connie was a very active volunteer at the VA Hospital as well as the VFW Post 9265 and American Legion Post 73. She logged more than 6000 hours as a volunteer at the VA Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 67 years, her parents, four sisters, and son-in-law, Don Craig. She is survived by her only daughter, Anthea Craig; two grandsons, Todd Dixon and Kenneth Dixon and wife Tammy; four great-grandchildren, Amanda, Christopher, Megan and Louden all of OKC; one great, great granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. Connie had a very gentle spirit and beautiful heart and loved her cats. Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 24, 2020, at 2 p.m. at Arlington Memory Gardens Mausoleum where she will entombed next to her husband.
