Corinne Marie Dinges, M.D., born October 6, 1991, in Oklahoma City, OK, passed away on August 17, 2021, after a three-year heroic fight with Ewing's sarcoma and Leukemia. She is survived by her beloved parents, Mark Dinges of Edmond, OK; DeAnn and Mark Mitchener of OKC; sister, Alex Dinges (Derek Peterson) of Chicago, IL; step-siblings, Christopher Mitchener of Los Angeles, CA; and Katie Wunsch (Jared Wunsch) of OKC; grandparents, Shirley Dinges of Yorkville, IL; Shirley Smith of OKC; John & Connie Mitchener of OKC; and her loving partner of almost ten years, Dean Fitzpatrick of OKC. Corinne was a graduate of Bishop McGuinness Catholic High School in 2010; received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology with honors from the University of Oklahoma in 2014 and graduated from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine in 2018. In July of 2018, Corinne moved to Greenville, South Carolina, to begin her dream job as an OB/GYN resident with Greenville Health Systems where she delivered over 70 babies. Corinne spent a few short months in Greenville, before being diagnosed in November of 2018; however, she developed deep, meaningful relationships that had a lasting impact on the community she served. As a physician and a newly diagnosed cancer patient knowing that she wanted a chance to have a family in the future, Corinne pursued fertility preservation treatments and became a vocal advocate for other women with cancer. It is important for recently diagnosed women to know that there are fertility preservation treatments available prior to beginning chemotherapy and radiation.Corinne's infectious smile lit up every room she walked into, and she had the innate ability to create lifelong friendships within minutes of meeting someone. Corinne enjoyed nothing more than helping others, spending time with family and friends, trips to the beach, and dolphins - she loved dolphins. In lieu of flowers, financial contributions may be made in Corinne's memory to Houston Haven, a non-profit ministry dedicated to providing affordable housing to out-of-town cancer patients and their families undergoing treatment at MD Anderson Cancer Center. Houston Haven: P.O. Box 102, Bellaire, TX 77402 or https://www.houstonhaven.com/support-us.A rosary will be held at 6:30 PM on Thursday, August 26, 2021. In celebration of Corinne's life, a funeral will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, August 27, 2021 - both services to be held at Christ the King Catholic Church, 8005 Dorset Dr., Oklahoma City, OK 73120, officiated by Pastor Rex Arnold and Fr. Rick Stansberry. The family respectfully requests that those who attend in person wear a mask.
