Craig McAuliff was born in Oklahoma City on August 16, 1985 to Jim and Vickie McAuliff. He left us to join God on April 7, 2017. He graduated from Bishop McGuinness High School in 2004 and attended OSU and Rose State College before graduating from the University of Oklahoma in 2010 with a degree in engineering. Craig was a true Renaissance Man. He played football in high school and he attended OSU and Rose State College as a student athlete where he played baseball. He was also an artist who won first place awards for his art at McGuinness, OCU and OU. Craig's art was displayed at the Gaylord Museum at OU. His teachers have said that he was the only student allowed to doodle in class because they were curious as to what he would create. He was also a talented musician who taught himself to play the piano by ear. His friend Nick Patterson always introduced him as, "a line-backer who can squat 450 lbs, who's an artist that can play Mozart." Craig was proud of his strong Irish heritage which was evident in his quick-witted sense of humor and his fierce love of his family and friends. He was loved in return by all who were fortunate enough to be a part of his life. He loved being with his family above all else including his friends who became honorary family members. Craig looked forward each year to his family's reunion at Robber's Cave State Park and will be missed by all of us. Craig was a loyal friend to many, a devoted son to his parents, a loving brother to his sister Stephanie Heffington and her husband Shayne and his brother Jimbo McAuliff and his wife Annie. He was a joyful uncle to Liv Messina, Hunter and Lydia Heffington, Easton, Beau, Owen and Cruz McAuliff. He will leave a hole in the hearts of his many cousins, family and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jack and Elizabeth McAuliff , John and Ann Darling, and his Aunt, Cecelia Hopkins. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Mental Health Association of Oklahoma, 400 N. Walker Ave. #190, Oklahoma City, OK 73102 (405)778-8121.
