Daniel Lamon Barnett, age 80 of Edmond, Oklahoma passed away December 7, 2018. He was born October 16, 1938 to Herman and Clara Jo (Narber) Barnett in Oklahoma City.
Daniel loved his family above all else and worked hard to provide for them, working for Proctor and Gamble for over twenty-five years before his retirement. He enjoyed sports and acted as a high school official for over forty years in football, basketball and softball. He was inducted into the Oklahoma Officials Hall of Fame where he remained an active member. He married the Love of his life, Marilyn Kay (Mee) on July 28, 1961. Together they raised five children and loved spending time with family and cherished time spent with their grandkids. Their favorite place to spend time together as family was at their cabin in Green Mountain Falls, Colorado during the summers. Danny will be remembered for his devotion to his family and giving nature.
Daniel was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife of fifty-five years, Marilyn; and his beloved son, Kevin. He is survived by his four devoted children, Kelly Duncan and her husband Scott, Daniel Barnett, Mark Barnett and James Barnett; his fifteen treasured grandchildren, Amy Barnett Potts and her husband Jeff, Casey Barnett and his wife Kalyn, Andrew Barnett, Austin Barnett, Jack Barnett, Hayden Barnett, Melinda Hudson and her husband Peter, Shyanne Hudson, Sheonna Hudson, Darius Hudson, Brittany Duncan, Olivia Duncan, Gabriel Duncan, Ryan Duncan and Cheyann Duncan; as well as two precious great-grandchildren, Ruby and Rose Barnett. Danny is also survived by one sister, Judy Kay Robertson; brother, Richard Barnett; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family as well as a constant companion, pet cat, "PeeWee".
Those wishing to pay their respects may do so during visitation at the funeral home Wednesday, December 12, 2018 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:30 a.m. Thursday, December 13, 2018 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Edmond, Oklahoma.
