Darell Gene Theissen passed away at his home in Oklahoma City on August 4, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was born in Mankato, MN, to Leon and Evelyn Theissen. He attended schools in Mankato, MN and graduated from Mankato State College in 1957. On August 12, 1956, he married his junior high sweetheart, Jean Marie Schultz. Prior to her death on April 28, 2016, they were blessed with three children: daughter, Lynn (Cory) Bowker of Tulsa, son, Steve (Beth) of Edmond, and son, Jon (Sylvia) of San Antonio, Texas; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren: Logan Theissen, Adam (Alexandra) Theissen (Sloane and Brooks), Maggie (Hayden) King (Barrett), Ryan (Megan) Theissen, Jackson (Codi) Bowker, Joshua Theissen and Matthew Theissen.
Darell began his career in the tire business at Firestone and was transferred to Oklahoma City in 1962 as District Manager. In 1969, he left Firestone to form his own business, Theissen Tire Company. Due to his hard work and leadership, his legacy continues today under the management of his sons as T&W Tire Company.
His interests included waterfowl hunting, fishing, golfing, playing cards, and having dinner with friends. Jean and Darell enjoyed an active social life traveling, playing bridge and entertaining friends. But most of all, Darell enjoyed his family and time with his children and their families.
In addition to his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, he is survived by a sister, Judy Neese of Amarillo and brother, John Theissen (Kathy) of Plymouth, MN.
