Darla Hall

Darla Ruth (Everett) Hall was born to Joel and Helen (Billy) Everett on April 29, 1960, and passed from this earth into the heavens on December 10, 2024. Darla was raised in Midwest City, Oklahoma, graduating from Midwest City High School in 1978. Darla met the love of her life, Mark Hall, in the 8th grade at Monroney Junior High and they married in 1983. In 1985, they welcomed their daughter Lindsey and in 1989, son Tanner and as a family made many lasting memories in Edmond, Oklahoma. Darla was drawn to the outdoors whether by the pool, in her garden, tending her roses, or simply mowing the lawn, she loved to be in the sun. The family spent many weekends at Lake Texoma cruising in the boat and roasting hot dogs on the beach. She was drawn to the ocean and loved any beach with sand, especially Destin. She would float in the surf for hours and would tell anyone nearby “we’re on vacation!” Darla also loved to be at home surrounded by all of her pets, especially her cats of which she’s had 13 over the years! But her greatest joy came from being the best Dotti ever to Shaefer, Palmer, Jensen and Margot as they spent many special days and nights together.

After working her way through graduation at Oklahoma State University with a degree in Public Relations and Communications, she began her career with the Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce where she was on the core team (led by former Mayor Ron Norick) that pursued relocation of an NHL hockey team. After her chamber service she was the Communications Director for the OKC 89ers as they moved to downtown OKC and became the OKC Redhawks. After her years of devotion to the public sector, Darla transitioned into the banking sector, first with Chase and then Regents Bank where she was Director of Business Development and continued to leverage her strong skills in customer relations and event planning for both organizations.

While very accomplished in her work life, Darla was also active in the community. She is a graduate of Leadership Oklahoma City Class XVII and Leadership Edmond Class 36. During her Leadership Edmond year, she served as Intern Board Member for the Edmond Rotary Club as well as Peaceful Family Oklahoma. In recent years Darla's passion for community led to her involvement with the Edmond Chamber of Commerce where she was awarded the Ambassador of the Year in 2022. Through the ambassador council, she supports the Salvation Army by ringing bells. She is an active volunteer for Edmond Mobile Meals and Down Syndrome Association of Central Oklahoma. She also serves on the Women in Banking Committee for the Oklahoma Bankers Association.

Darla is predeceased by her mother and father. She is survived by her husband, Mark Hall, her daughter Lindsey Hall-Wiist (David), her son Tanner (Kelly Temple), from Edmond and OKC, along with granddaughters Shaefer, Palmer, Jensen and Margot. She is also survived by her sisters Linda Campbell, Rita Cain, Patty Brady, Kathy Young and brother Joey Everett (Judy). A visitation will be 3 to 5 PM Sunday, December 15, 2024 and funeral services for Darla will be 2:00 PM, Monday, December 16, 2024 both at Smith and Kernke funeral home 14624 N. May Ave., OKC. A reception will follow the funeral. The family request memorial donations be directed to the OK Humane Society or Down Syndrome Association of Oklahoma.
