David H. Miller passed away November 19, 2020. David was born on May 31, 1944 in Wellsville, New York and moved to Shawnee, OK when he was 10 years old. He graduated from Shawnee High School in 1962 after meeting the love of his life, Sandy. David and Sandy married August 28, 1964 and were happily married for 56 years. David graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelors of Business Administration in 1966 and began a 30-year career in telecommunications. David spent 26 years with Southwestern Bell Corporation. Following his retirement from Bell, he served as the chief officer of Sure-Tel in Oklahoma City. His later years were filled with a cattle operation, owning a liquor store, and several other business ventures. David was an active member of many civic organizations and served a 5-year term on the Deer Creek School Board and most recently on the Deer Creek Water Board. David's military service included a 4-year term in the Army National Guard. David's retirement years were filled with the excitement of farm life, feeding and chasing animals and quality time with family and friends. David was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Meda Miller. David is survived by his wife, Sandy, of the home; brother, Jerry Miller of Scottsdale, AZ; two daughters, Kelli Miller of Edmond and Stacey Cannon (John) of Greeley, CO; grandson, Jantz Miller of Oklahoma City, and granddaughters, Abbey Cannon of Greeley, CO and Bethani Haan of Edmond. The family would like to thank the medical professionals at Mercy Hospital for his care in his final weeks. The family will greet friends during visitation, Monday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.Services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at the Smith & Kernke N.
