A quiet and gentle man, Dean Short, died suddenly this week. Even though his life was brief, he made every minute count. He liked order and found great comfort in doing things well. He cared about others and especially those who were hurting or vulnerable, extending his kindness to family, friends, and others less well known. He was generous with his time and resources. He was a very good friend. Dean was studying horticulture and loved helping things grow. He was an avid video gamer and enjoyed playing with his niece, Vivian and nephews, Maddox and Sterling. He loved his dog, Ranger. He leaves his mother, Denise Short and father, Dan Short; brothers, Jeremy and Brian, and sister, Ellen. He will be greatly missed. Viewing will be Thursday from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. followed by an Evening Prayer Service at 6 p.m. at Smith & Kernke N. May Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, September 12, 2014, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
